The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maier takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Rave changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maier looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Maier is looking for a sweep.
Rave tries to score with some ground and pound. Maier controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Rave thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

We've been hearing good reports from Maier's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Rave is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Maier is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
