Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Azar Qasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Benjamin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Qasi comes into the arena with For Whom The Bell Tolls blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Benjamin's choice of entrance music: Pastor Troy - It's About To Go Down. Tyson Benjamin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

18 - 9 - 2, fighting out of New York, Tyson Benjamin!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Reed Andrews and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Qasi looks to land a combination but Benjamin avoids it well.
Qasi throws a jab when Benjamin was well out of range.
Benjamin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Qasi to the ground. Benjamin is now in Qasi's guard.
Benjamin is working Qasi over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Qasi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Benjamin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Benjamin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Benjamin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Qasi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Benjamin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Qasi has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Qasi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Benjamin defends well.
Benjamin told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Benjamin is posturing up here but Qasi has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Benjamin tries to roll out but it's too tight and Benjamin has to tap! Slick submission there by Qasi!
