Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Louis Prince (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sylvester Dodd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Louis Prince! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sylvester Dodd! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Prince tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dodd paws at him with a jab and circles away. A little jabbing left from Dodd on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Prince moves into range and clinches up with Dodd. Dodd scores with a nice hook to the head. A shot in the inside from Dodd. A shot in the inside from Dodd. Prince taking a breather. Prince tries to work over Dodd's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. I was talking to Prince's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Dodd fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Dodd trying to control the position but instead, Prince has worked for underhooks and has pushed Dodd into the cage. Dodd misses with a hook from the clinch. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dodd can do anything to dispel that myth. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Prince accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Prince wants to pass the guard but Dodd is keeping the position. Prince prevents Dodd from getting back to his feet. Dodd really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Prince. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dodd is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Prince's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Prince stands up over Dodd, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Prince passes Dodd's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Dodd is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Dodd is trying to control but can't.

Sylvester Dodd dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Dodd throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Prince looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Prince has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Prince there as he acknowledges the shot. Dodd loads up on a big right hand but Prince slips the punch. Jab, jab by Dodd - just one landing. Prince shoots in looking for a takedown. Dodd tries to sprawl out of it but Prince keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dodd manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Prince moves in looking to clinch but Dodd pushes him off. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Dodd! But no joy. Louis Prince seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dodd avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Prince takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Prince pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Prince misses with a straight right. Sylvester Dodd is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Dodd seems comfortable defending it but Prince has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Dodd is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Dodd is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Prince couldn't care less - he's delighted!
