Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Johnathon Harrington! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tony Kim! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kim drives through and clinches with Harrington against the cage.
Kim keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Harrington's efforts to push away. Harrington is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Kim is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Harrington is defending well against a takedown attempt. Kim breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kim has a takedown stuffed. Johnathon Harrington has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Kim. Kim with a poor takedown and Harrington moves into the clinch. Harrington jumps guard and drags Kim to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Kim is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Harrington keeping moving, preventing Kim from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harrington really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Harrington is looking for a triangle here but Kim uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Kim is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Harrington knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Harrington for a finish. Harrington wants to control his opponent's hands but Kim gets his hands free. Harrington is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kim is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Harrington is trying to get back to his feet but Kim has full control of the position and if anything, Harrington has just worked his way into a worse spot. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harrington wants to control his opponent's hands but Kim gets his hands free. Harrington rolls, trying to escape but Kim keeps control of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kim is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Harrington has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Harrington is trying to stand back up. Kim tries to keep control of the position but Harrington is staying busy. Kim patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? That's four minutes gone in the round. Kim looking for the choke but no joy. Harrington trying to control the hands but Kim breaks the grip. Kim has the hooks in. Harrington is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Kim is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Harrington has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Kim not allowing Harrington to control his hands. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Harrington trying to get back to his feet but Kim is in full control for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Harrington is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Harrington gets control of Kim's arms and successfully pulls guard. Harrington will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Kim trying to control the position from guard on top but Harrington is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Harrington wants to stand but Kim is controlling the position. Kim sitting in guard here, content to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kim postures up.
Harrington seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Harrington is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Kim would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Kim shoots for a takedown but Harrington saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kim decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kim looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Tony Kim has got the better of the ground game so far. Harrington looking for a kimura from the bottom but Kim passes into side control! Kim looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Harrington can't do much from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kim is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Harrington has escaped the position, nice work there. Harrington stuck in half guard on the bottom here. Harrington is trying to get back to his feet. Kim is working to tighten his grip on Harrington's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Harrington has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kim is really squeezing tight and eventually Harrington passes out! Kim breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
