Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Theros Staal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dixie Normus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Normus looks for a takedown but Staal sprawls well.
Normus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Staal.
Staal lands a big head kick that sends Normus tumbling to the mat! Staal takes a step backwards and waves Normus back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Dixie Normus has been cut.
Normus tries to bum rush Staal with a series of wild strikes but Staal uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Staal has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad The Island in the buildup to the fight.
Staal lands a leg kick that knocks Normus off balance momentarily.
Staal scores with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Normus misses with a wild body shot.
Staal lands a jab to the head.
Staal lands a front kick.
Staal could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Staal uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Normus.
Theros Staal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Normus gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Normus shoots in but Staal avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Staal dips to his left and cracks Normus with an uppercut!
Normus takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Staal lands a big head kick that sends Normus tumbling to the mat! Staal takes a step backwards and waves Normus back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Normus is rocked!
Normus takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Normus looks winded!
Normus looks up at the clock. Bad move! Staal lands a right hand from hell, dropping Normus. Staal pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Theros Staal!
