The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hugs looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kalezievitch!
Kalezievitch tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hugs has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kalezievitch's face.
It looks like Armando Kalezievitch has been cut.
Hugs trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Kalezievitch bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Hugs has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kalezievitch off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Kalezievitch has control of Hugs's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hugs regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Kalezievitch is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hugs can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Hugs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kalezievitch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hugs tries to lock up and control but Kalezievitch gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Kalezievitch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hugs swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hugs will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Hugs pushes Kalezievitch off and gets back to his feet.
Kalezievitch gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hugs counters with a body kick that stops Kalezievitch in his tracks momentarily.
Hugs scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Kalezievitch has his takedown stuffed
and Hugs counters with a series of strikes. Kalezievitch will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Armando Kalezievitch. That's going to take a lot out of him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hugs throws a lazy right hand but Kalezievitch sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Hugs swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hugs misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Hugs tries to score with some ground and pound. Kalezievitch controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
