PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hades Destroyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruise Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee has chosen Mortal Kombat Theme as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hades Destroyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bruise Lee!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

so Destroyer counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Destroyer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lee is pulling down on Destroyer's head to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Destroyer tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard.

Lee had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Destroyer defends it easily.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch but Destroyer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Destroyer half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Lee lands a jab to Destroyer's midsection.
Lee shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Destroyer as he avoids it easily.
Destroyer is trying to drag Lee to the mat but Lee just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Lee is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Destroyer looking to pass the guard.
Lee is looking to stand up but Destroyer isn't so interested in that idea.
Lee is trying to control the position but Destroyer postures up.
Lee will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Destroyer dives in for a single leg takedown but Lee sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lee falls off balance throwing a combination

and Destroyer counters with a single leg into guard. Lee didn't expect that.

Lee looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Destroyer has picked Lee up and slammed him! Lee can't keep hold of the triangle and Destroyer manages to pass to side control!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Destroyer is looking to take a break and control but Lee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Destroyer tries to advance to mount but can't.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Lee tries to score a power double leg takedown but Destroyer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lee somewhat.
Destroyer was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Destroyer displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lee.

and Destroyer moves into the clinch.
Lee jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Destroyer walks away with a smile on his face. Lee gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Lee slaps away a takedown attempt from Destroyer, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Destroyer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lee can do to turn this around?

and Destroyer counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lee won't be happy with that.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Destroyer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lee is aware though and is defending well.

Lee drops back, looking for a kneebar! Destroyer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Destroyer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Destroyer!

Lee is looking to reverse the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Destroyer working away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Lee tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Destroyer defends well and Lee ends up having to push Destroyer into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Destroyer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lee is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lee is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Destroyer to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hades Destroyer.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Destroyer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
