Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Conor Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Hanga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam Hanga is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Conor Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adam Hanga!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hanga feints and as Harris raises his hands in defense, Hanga changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Harris avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Hanga lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Hanga with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hanga working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Harris has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hanga can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Harris wants to control the position but Hanga says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harris looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hanga missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Harris wants to get back to full guard but Hanga has passed into side control.
Hanga connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Harris some visible discomfort.
You can see the frustration on Harris's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hanga sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Harris is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Harris is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Harris managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hanga.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hanga sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Harris is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Harris wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hanga changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Harris tries to avoid it but Hanga manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Harris to the ground. Harris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Harris breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Harris closes the distance and clinches.
Harris has Hanga pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hanga manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
I was talking to Harris's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Harris breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Adam Hanga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Harris moves into range and clinches up with Hanga.
Hanga is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Harris gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Harris breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hanga tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Harris defends well and Hanga ends up having to push Harris into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Conor Harris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Hanga.
Harris tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hanga swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Horrible takedown attempt by Hanga or perhaps it was just good defense by Harris, which made it look bad.

As Hanga backs away, Harris returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Harris tries to roll over but Hanga keeps him under control.

Harris moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Harris is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hanga is controlling him.
Harris wants to sweep here but Hanga controlling him for the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hanga postures up.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harris rushes Hanga and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Harris gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Hanga wants to sweep here but Harris controlling him for the moment.
Hanga doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Harris has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hanga is proving hard to escape from.
Harris trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Hanga is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Harris wants to stand but Hanga has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Hanga is trying to maintain the position but Harris is very close to passing his half guard.
Harris wants to stand but Hanga has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Harris is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Harris tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hanga swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Harris fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hanga, pushing him back against the cage.
Harris is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hanga gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Harris wants to get back to striking at distance but Hanga won't allow it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Harris tightens his grip and picks Hanga up, before dumping him to the ground. Hanga manages to land in guard.
Harris will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Harris stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Harris is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Harris tries to clinch up but Hanga circles away and keeps his distance.
Harris lands a leg kick that knocks Hanga off balance momentarily.
Hanga fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Harris throws a shot to the body.
Hanga misses with a takedown attempt - Harris sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Conor Harris is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hanga throws a series of punches but Harris moves out of range.
Hanga shoots in looking for a takedown. Harris tries to sprawl out of it but Hanga keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Harris manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hanga is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Harris.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looks like Adam Hanga has been cut.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hanga decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Harris has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hanga is working away from the top position though.

Harris has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hanga is working away from the top position though.

Hanga seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Oooh a lovely combination from Harris sends Hanga down but not out. Harris dives into side control looking to finish.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Harris has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Hanga is still on wobbly legs! Can Harris finish him?
Harris tries to clinch up.
Harris Rushes Hanga and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Hanga is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Harris Piles on the pressure and Hanga crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
