0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dean Bean! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Siberian shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Siberian was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Siberian working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Siberian is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bean has escaped the position, nice work there. Bean being controlled for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Siberian working the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Siberian has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Siberian shoots in for a double leg but Bean sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Siberian shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bean as he avoids it easily. Bean gets caught napping as Siberian dives in and scores a takedown. Bean manages to retain guard. Siberian throws a big right hand that misses. Bean working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Siberian. Siberian is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Siberian wants to control from the top but Bean keeps moving. Siberian looking to pass the guard. Bean looks winded! Bean keeping moving, preventing Siberian from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bean looking to control.
Bean can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Siberian controls the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Siberian drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Siberian lands an elbow. Siberian happy to just control the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Siberian wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bean, who protects the arm well. Bean looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Siberian remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Siberian scores with punches from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Siberian lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Siberian controlling from side mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Siberian is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bean has escaped the position, nice work there. Bean is trying to control Siberian's posture but Siberian avoids it. Bean tries to get back to half guard but can't. Siberian is staying tight to Bean's torso, preventing him from escaping. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Siberian goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bean has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Siberian but great work by Bean. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Orlando Siberian dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Siberian shoots in but Bean avoids the takedown attempt easily. Siberian looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Siberian is looking for a kimura here.
Orlando Siberian overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Siberian controlling the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Siberian is working for a kimura but Bean is defending it quite comfortably.
Siberian has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Bean defend it? Siberian steps over the head and cranks it - Bean is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Siberian!
