The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bullard wants to clinch.
Lawler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bullard moves away.

Lawler scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Bullard looks like he's trying to stand up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lawler is trying to control. Bullard wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Bullard doesn't manage to clinch there - Lawler circles away.
Bullard tries to close the distance and clinch but Lawler swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lawler keeps the fight on the outside.
Lawler fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bullard manages to avoid it.

and Bullard holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
We've been informed that Bullard has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
