And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Buster Knott!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knott throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Knott keeps the fight on the outside.

Cooper looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Cooper tries to free his leg and advance position but Knott is retaining full guard.
Knott trying to control the position.
Knott seems keen to control Cooper's posture.

Knott looking for a guillotine here but Cooper defends easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cooper pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Knott is keeping the position for now.

Cooper prevents Knott from getting back to his feet.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Knott seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Cooper clinches with his opponent.
Cooper tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Knott smiles and moves away.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Cooper might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cooper takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Knott is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Cooper has managed to free his arm - good work.

Knott is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cooper is just riding it out for now. Knott eventually gives up the hold.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Knott wants to work for an arm triangle but Cooper is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Knott got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cooper has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Knott has managed to get both his arms back between Cooper's legs - danger averted.

Knott is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Knott is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cooper controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Cooper shoots for a double leg takedown but Knott sprawls well. He's pushed Cooper's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Knott closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Cooper did well to prevent Knott getting side control.

Knott is stalling here. Cooper is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Knott seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Cooper has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Cooper wants to lay and pray for a moment but Knott keeps working.

Cooper thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Cooper is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Knott is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Buster Knott will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Knott lying in Cooper's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Cooper decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Knott taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

A very excited looking Sheldon Cooper made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Buster Knott spoke after the fight, saying 'I'm young and still have a lot of upside. The same cannot be said of you.'.
