Rekis comes into the arena with AC/DC - Thunderstruck blaring out of the sound system. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Cosades!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rekis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Cosades counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Cosades fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Rekis on the side of the head.

We've been informed that Cosades has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rekis takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Cosades ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rekis moves away.
Rekis on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Rekis takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Cosades pivots, looking for a leg kick but Rekis is out of range and Cosades settles back down.
Cosades is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Rekis had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Horrible takedown attempt by Rekis or perhaps it was just good defense by Cosades, which made it look bad.
Cosades's jab looks to have found its range, popping Rekis under the eye.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charlie Cosades dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Rekis on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Cosades tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rekis was well out of range. Poor timing from Cosades.

Charlie Cosades seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cosades sizes up Rekis with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Cosades moves into range and connects with a jab.
Cosades ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rekis moves away.
Cosades lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Rekis at a distance.
Cosades lands with a good body shot.
Rekis takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cosades feints and then cracks Rekis's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rekis down.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cosades moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Rekis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cosades defends well and Rekis ends up having to push Cosades into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Cosades lands a hook to the side of the head.
Oh Rekis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cosades pushes Rekis against the cage. Cosades is working some dirty boxing. Cosades pushes off with a quick right hook! Rekis goes down! Rekis tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Cosades moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charlie Cosades!
A very excited looking Charlie Cosades made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
The defeated John Rekis had this to say: 'I'll be back!!!'.
