PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Doug Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miron Karoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Wilson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fight - The Dirty Youth. The key to victory for Doug Wilson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Doug Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Miron Karoa!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karoa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Karoa fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Wilson to the ground. Karoa is now in Wilson's guard.

Karoa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Karoa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've been hearing good reports from Wilson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Karoa dives in for a single leg takedown but Wilson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Miron Karoa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Wilson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Wilson lands a left and a right that send Karoa crashing to the mat, dazed. Wilson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Miron Karoa has been cut.

Karoa bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wilson is looking for a sweep.

Karoa wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wilson, who protects the arm well.

Karoa is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wilson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Karoa.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Doug Wilson.
I think Karoa has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
