Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Zamora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ocho Cinco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricardo Zamora!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ocho Cinco!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cinco slips a jab from Zamora.
Zamora uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cinco.
Cinco shoots for a double leg takedown but Zamora sprawls well. He's pushed Cinco's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cinco throws a nice looking combination but Zamora bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Zamora closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Zamora moves into range and clinches up with Cinco.

Cinco has picked Zamora up - he's going for a ride! Cinco dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zamora trying to control but Cinco postures up.

Zamora has one foot on Cinco's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Cinco avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cinco looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Cinco slips under a jab from Zamora.

Cinco fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ricardo Zamora has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ocho Cinco.

Cinco shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Cinco sitting in guard here, content to control.
Cinco looks gassed!
Zamora has control of Cinco's left arm, preventing Cinco from doing any damage.

Cinco is looking to work some ground and pound but Zamora has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zamora manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Cinco is working to get back to half guard.
Zamora thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Cinco tries to hold on but Zamora pushes him away.

Cinco wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Zamora controlling the position well here. Cinco rolled but Zamora kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Zamora tries to keep control of the position but Cinco is staying busy.
Cinco trying to get back to his feet but Zamora is in full control for now.
Cinco looking very determined here, making life difficult for Zamora.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ricardo Zamora will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Zamora throws a one two combo.

Cinco scores with a takedown into Zamora's guard.

Zamora manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Cinco swats away the attempt to clinch by Zamora.
Cinco pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Zamora pushes Cinco up against the cage in a clinch.
Cinco lands an uppercut.

Cinco jumps into guard, dragging Zamora to the mat.
Cinco looking for a sweep. Not yet Cinco, not yet.
Zamora trying to control but Cinco is working from the bottom.
Zamora wants to get up but he can't break Cinco's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Cinco wriggles free and stands up.
Ricardo Zamora is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Cinco feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cinco prevents Zamora from getting back to his feet.
Cinco is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Cinco postures up.
Zamora wants to sweep here but Cinco controlling him for the moment.
Cinco looking to pass the guard.

Zamora escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cinco gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Cinco shoots for a takedown but Zamora saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Zamora tries to clinch there but Cinco circles away.
Zamora scores with a hook to the body. Cinco takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A head kick misses from Zamora.

Zamora gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cinco wants to control from the top but Zamora keeps moving.
Zamora controls Cinco momentarily but Cinco frees himself.
Cinco sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Cinco stands up from guard. Let's bang!
A bone on bone clash there as Zamora blocks the leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ocho Cinco showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Cinco moves in looking to clinch but Zamora pushes him off.
No luck for Cinco with that takedown attempt.
Zamora throws a combination that misses

and Cinco counters with a nice double leg into side control. Zamora won't be happy with that.
Zamora is not content to let Cinco control the position.
Cinco throws a strike aimed at the side of Zamora's head but Zamora avoids it well.

Cinco decides to stand back up.
Left hook, right uppercut from Zamora.
Cinco circles away from the clinch attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cinco gets a clinch.

Cinco breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cinco slips a jab and a cross from Zamora.
Cinco closes the distance looking to clinch

and Zamora counters by moving into the clinch.

Cinco breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Zamora looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Well, if Zamora is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Cinco is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zamora tries to stand and escape but Cinco is controlling the position.
Zamora looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Zamora knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cinco on the ground.
Cinco is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Cinco is staying active underneath Zamora, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cinco controlling the position well.
Zamora is thwarting Cinco's attempts to control the position.
Cinco is refusing to be controlled, as Zamora sits in half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Cinco tries for a takedown but Zamora circles away easily
enabling Zamora to counter with a crisp jab.
Cinco throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Zamora is looking to clinch but Cinco is avoiding it.

Cinco darts in and clinches Zamora up against the cage.

Cinco breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Zamora stuffs the takedown.
Ricardo Zamora has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ocho Cinco.
Zamora misses with a wild combination.
Zamora wants to clinch up but Cinco keeps it at a distance.

Cinco looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Zamora!
Zamora blocking the ground and pound.
Zamora wants to control but Cinco is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ocho Cinco comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Cinco has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
