Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Gsp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Frederiksen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Gsp!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fred Frederiksen!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gsp fails to land the takedown.
Gsp tries to clinch but Frederiksen is having none of it.
Gsp changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Frederiksen tries to avoid it but Gsp manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Frederiksen to the ground. Frederiksen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gsp tries to clinch up.
It seemed like Frederiksen was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Gsp tries to clinch up but Frederiksen circles away and keeps his distance.
Gsp misses with a takedown attempt
and Frederiksen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Gsp walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Frederiksen has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gsp tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Frederiksen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Frederiksen tries to advance to mount but Gsp denies him.
Gsp tries to strike but it doesn't land.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Frederiksen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gsp closes this distance looking for a takedown but Frederiksen circles away.
Gsp shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Frederiksen as he avoids it easily.
Frederiksen's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gsp under the eye.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Frederiksen avoids the elbow strike from Gsp, against the cage.
Frederiksen's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Gsp tries to bum rush Frederiksen with a series of wild strikes but Frederiksen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Greg Gsp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gsp shoots in looking for a takedown. Frederiksen tries to sprawl out of it but Gsp keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Frederiksen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Frederiksen lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Gsp tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Frederiksen swivels and escapes.
Gsp shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Frederiksen as he avoids it easily.

Fred Frederiksen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Gsp drops back, looking for a kneebar! Frederiksen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Frederiksen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Frederiksen!
