The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marks missing with a left hand there. Stones was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Stones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Marks manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Marks! But no joy. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stones is defended easily by Marks. Marks ducks down and throws a hook to the body. A decent looking cross lands there for Marks. Marks lands the left hand. Marks lands a jab to the nose. Stones moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Marks throws an overhand right that drops Stones like a sack of potatoes! Marks dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeff Marks!
