Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Mathews!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xander Bailey!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bailey fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mathews avoids it really well and circles away.
Mathews lands with a cross.
Bailey shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mathews defends it nicely.
Bailey fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Brian Mathews has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xander Bailey.
Bailey takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Mathews moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Bailey's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mathews connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bailey scrambles back to his feet.
Bailey takes one on the button.

Mathews closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nice body punch from Mathews.
Mathews lands a body shot in the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mathews is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Bailey is working for takedown but Mathews is calmly controlling the position for now.
Mathews scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Bailey drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mathews gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Bailey has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mathews after a bit of a struggle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Mathews manages to break the clinch.
Mathews wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Mathews stuffs the takedown.
Mathews jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Bailey looks winded!
A decent looking cross lands there for Mathews.
Mathews throws a series of strikes that have Bailey backpedaling.
Bailey dives in and grabs Mathews's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mathews pushes down on Bailey's head and hops out.
Mathews lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Jab by Mathews.
A left and a right from Mathews both land. Nice combination.
Mathews moves into range and connects with a jab.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mathews, as that shot connected.
Mathews connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bailey drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Mathews!
Bailey takes a jab right on the kisser.
Mathews with a hook.
Mathews pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bailey back to the cage. Mathews follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Mathews lands a really nice looking cross but Bailey seems unphased.
Bailey throws a poor cross that misses
letting Mathews counter with a right hand.
Mathews cracks Bailey with a right hand to the side of the head.


Bailey is rocked!
Bailey has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bailey walks into a straight right hand from Mathews.
Bailey is still on wobbly legs! Can Mathews finish him?
The crowd cheers as Mathews lands an impressive looking overhand right. Bailey doesn't seem phased though.
The fighters circle momentarily. Mathews darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Mathews scores with a nice right hand.
Mathews is working the combinations to good effect here.
Mathews circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Bailey to the canvas! Bailey doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Mathews keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brian Mathews!
