Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mervin Tanner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuki Sakurai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mervin Tanner has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakurai tries to close the distance and clinch but Tanner swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Sakurai slips a jab and a cross from Tanner.

Yuki Sakurai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Sakurai feints and as Tanner raises his hands in defense, Sakurai changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sakurai is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Sakurai got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tanner has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sakurai has managed to get both his arms back between Tanner's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tanner closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sakurai to the mat! Sakurai manages to get full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Tanner has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Sakurai to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Tanner is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Sakurai pulls down on the head and he's put Tanner to sleep! This one is all over!
