Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Uruhara Hatake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Birigiz Ignatiev! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hatake is looking to score with low kicks. A low kick from Ignatiev is predictable there and Hatake counters with a shoot takedown. Ignatiev fights it but they end up in guard. Ignatiev wants to stand and escape but Hatake is having none of it. Hatake lands a couple of decent looking shots. Ignatiev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ignatiev keeping moving, preventing Hatake from controlling successfully. Ignatiev keeping full guard, as Hatake tries to pass. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ignatiev keeping moving, preventing Hatake from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Ignatiev is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ignatiev trying to mount his opponent but Hatake defends it. Hatake is looking to control Ignatiev's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hatake avoid being mounted? Hatake desperately trying to maintain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hatake looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ignatiev looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Ignatiev is continuing to stall. The adventures of Ignatiev the control monster continue. Boring.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Hatake avoids the head kick by Ignatiev.
Hatake throws a big counter combination but Ignatiev scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Ignatiev throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hatake fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ignatiev avoids the head kick by Hatake.
Ignatiev misses with a wild body shot. Ignatiev throws a body kick that misses. Hatake swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Hatake tries a low kick but Ignatiev avoids it. Birigiz Ignatiev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ignatiev gets off balance looking for a body kick and Hatake counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Hatake blocks a head kick by Ignatiev.
Hatake swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Ignatiev throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Uruhara Hatake has been cut. Ignatiev works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Ignatiev. A head kick by Ignatiev misses and Hatake counters with a series of strikes. Ignatiev will be more careful next time no doubt. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ignatiev throws a sloppy head kick and Hatake moves out of range easily. The crowd cheers as Ignatiev lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hatake doesn't seem phased though. Ignatiev tries a head kick but it misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ignatiev pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ignatiev plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Ignatiev throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ignatiev lands with a kick to the temple. Hatake shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Ignatiev throws a head kick that misses and Hatake counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Ignatiev!
Ignatiev is rocked! Ignatiev looks winded! Hatake trying to control the action but Ignatiev is working from the bottom. Ignatiev is still in real trouble! Can Hatake finish him? Hatake is trying to get an arm triangle but Ignatiev is defending well. Ignatiev seems to have recovered his senses. Hatake fails to land a wild elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Birigiz Ignatiev will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Uruhara Hatake's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
The fighters circle, before Hatake throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Ignatiev's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Hatake lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Uruhara Hatake! A relieved looking Uruhara Hatake thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
