Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jenkins goes for an armbar but Scalante turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Scalante.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jenkins is on top in guard.

Scalante throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Jenkins ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lew Jenkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Scalante gets caught flat footed, as Jenkins shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Jenkins sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Scalante's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Scalante can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jenkins in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Scalante tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Jenkins!

A relieved looking Lew Jenkins thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Rocky Scalante was interviewed post fight and said '“What does it mean to be the best? It means you have to be better than the number two guy. But what gratification is there in that? He's a loser—that’s why he's number two.” '.
