The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Asashoryu does no damage.
Asashoryu swings widly with a right hand
and Smith connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Smith scores with a kick to the body.
Smith blocks a head kick by Asashoryu.
Asashoryu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Smith gets a clinch.

Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smith goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A little jabbing left from Asashoryu on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Asashoryu misses with a head kick.
Smith scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Asashoryu chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Smith can pounce on him.
Smith lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Asashoryu throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Smith sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Smith pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Asashoryu back to the cage. Smith follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Asashoryu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Smith sizes up Asashoryu with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Smith avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Asashoryu blocks a head kick by Smith.

Asashoryu throws a left and a right that both miss
and Smith counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Asashoryu on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Asashoryu is still on wobbly legs! Can Smith finish him?
Smith drops Asashoryu with a naaaaasty hook - Asashoryu is in real trouble here! Smith dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
