PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Perry Roscrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roscrow comes to the cage accompanied by Wicked Gil. Don King told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 23 - 0, fighting out of New York, Perry Roscrow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don King!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roscrow tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but King swivels and escapes.
King ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
It seemed like King was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Roscrow is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by King.
King avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
King moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Perry Roscrow has been cut.

King drops Roscrow with a beautiful combination! Roscrow stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - King is looking for the KO!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
King keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from King! But no joy.
Roscrow fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Perry Roscrow. That's going to take a lot out of him.
King jabs at Roscrow's body.
King uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Roscrow.

Roscrow throws the left hand but King avoids the punch easily.
King tries to bum rush Roscrow with a series of wild strikes but Roscrow uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
King scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Roscrow takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

King tries to bum rush Roscrow with a series of wild strikes but Roscrow uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Roscrow shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with King but King pushes him off and we're back to square one.
King fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

King defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Roscrow.
Roscrow looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Nice straight punches there by Roscrow. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Roscrow.
Roscrow shoots in and drives through. King sprawls well.
King displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Roscrow throws out the jab.
King throws out a counter right but Roscrow avoids it with no problem.
Roscrow fails with a takedown attempt.
Roscrow blocks a punch to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Roscrow is working for takedown but King is calmly controlling the position for now.
King stops a takedown attempt from Roscrow.
Roscrow has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. King avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
King has a couple of punches blocked by Roscrow.
Roscrow is really struggling to find his range with his punches. King's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
King lands a right hand.
King misses with a punch on the inside.
Roscrow goes for a takedown attempt but King pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Roscrow uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by King.

Roscrow shoots in but King avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Roscrow is defended easily by King.
King is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
King looks to land a combination but Roscrow avoids it well.

and King counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
