The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trill wants to clinch.
Balagtas dives in and scores a takedown into Trill's guard.

Balagtas drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Trill manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Balagtas has Trill in his guard.
Balagtas is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Trill is aware though and is defending well.
Balagtas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Balagtas looking for a guillotine here but Trill defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Balagtas is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Trill avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Balagtas is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Trill frees his head nicely. Oh but Balagtas has switched to an armbar! Trill is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
