Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rashad Byers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gordon Williams! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Byers misses with a body shot.
Byers rushes Williams and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Byers is defending well against a takedown attempt. A left hand lands to the body for Byers.
Byers lands a hook to the side of the head. Williams is looking for a takedown. A right hand to the body from Byers.
The referee calls for Byers to work.
Byers working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Byers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Williams shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Williams was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Byers has one of Williams's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams wants to control but Byers is keeping him busy. Byers is trying to control Williams's posture but Williams avoids it. The strikes coming from Williams are missing the target in this wave of attacks. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams advances nicely into full mount. Byers is desperately trying to improve his position but Williams has a good base and remains in mount. Byers is working hard here to advance position. Byers is squirming around, avoiding Williams's attempts to control the action. Byers definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Byers tries to get back to half guard but can't. Byers on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Byers tries to get out of the position. Williams lands a nice shot to the head. Williams looking to control and managing it successfully. Byers is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Byers is looking to improve his position but Williams isn't that keen on the idea. Williams tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Williams connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Williams looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Williams controlling the pace for now. Williams manages to capitalize on a mistake by Byers to take his back! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Williams biding his time, controlling Byers. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gordon Williams dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Byers misses with an uppercut. Byers scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Williams shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Byers but Byers pushes him off and we're back to square one. Byers tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Byers with a jab. Byers lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Williams fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. The fighters circle momentarily. Byers darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams fails to land the takedown. Rashad Byers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gordon Williams. Byers pushes Williams up against the cage in a clinch.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Byers creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Byers prevents a body shot from Williams. Byers breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Williams slaps away a takedown attempt from Byers, before circling back to the center of the mat. Byers connects with a single shot there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Byers with a body punch. A glancing blow. Byers scores with a jab. Williams acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Byers comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Williams fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Byers bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Williams's head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Williams is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Byers clinches up against the cage. Williams tries to pull guard but Byers holds him up against the cage and eventually Williams drops back down to his feet.
Williams is trying to trip Byers. He has hold of a leg but Byers is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Williams persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Byers keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully. Byers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Williams on the ground. Byers tries to land a sweep but no joy. Byers keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully. Byers manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Williams manages to get himself to full guard.

Williams utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Byers slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Williams keeping moving, preventing Byers from controlling successfully. Byers throws an elbow that misses. Williams uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Byers's guard. Nice move by Williams! Williams controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Byers can't keep his opponent in guard - Williams advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Byers gets back to full guard.
Williams wants to control from the top but Byers keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rashad Byers dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Donk. Byers catches Williams right on the button with a cross. Byers punishes Williams's body with a nice straight punch. Byers misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Byers scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Byers cracks the inside of Williams's front leg. Byers lands with a right hand. Byers keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Byers throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Williams stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Byers stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Byers misses with a hook. Byers keeps the fight on the outside. Byers swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Williams. This has been an exciting period of action! Nice shot by Byers. Byers tries a head kick but it misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Byers lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Byers stuffs the takedown attempt from Williams. Williams gets slowly back to his feet. Byers stuffs the takedown. A nice combination there by Byers.

Byers defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Williams. Rashad Byers is winning the standup battle so far. Williams takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Byers scores with a shot to the body.

Williams shoots in looking for a takedown but Byers manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Williams's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Byers throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Byers connects with a body shot. The fight stays on the outside here - Byers looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Byers moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Byers closes the distance and clinches.

Williams takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Williams will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Byers lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Byers misses with a body kick. Williams fails with an attempt to clinch.
Williams fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Byers avoids it really well and circles away. Byers throws the kick towards the body but Williams avoids it. Byers throws a series of punches but Williams moves out of range. Byers pushes Williams up against the cage in a clinch.
