Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joesph Wyatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joesph Wyatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Freeman!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wyatt defends well and Freeman ends up having to push Wyatt into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Wyatt jumps guard.
Freeman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Freeman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wyatt swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Freeman wants to control from the top but Wyatt keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Freeman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Freeman throws an elbow that misses. Wyatt uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Freeman's guard. Nice move by Wyatt!

Freeman controls Wyatt momentarily but Wyatt frees himself.
Wyatt postures up in Freeman's guard and throws a big left but Freeman blocks it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Wyatt stands and steps away. Freeman gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Freeman shoots and misses
and Wyatt counters with a nice body kick.
Wyatt blocks a head kick by Freeman.

Freeman closes the distance and clinches.
Freeman jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wyatt walks away with a smile on his face. Freeman gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Joesph Wyatt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Freeman.

Freeman moves into the clinch successfully.
Freeman is trying to break free.

Wyatt pulls guard successfully.
Freeman throws a strike but Wyatt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Wyatt postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Freeman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wyatt, into his guard.

Freeman wants to control from the top but Wyatt keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wyatt looking for a sweep. Not yet Wyatt, not yet.
Freeman throws a strike but Wyatt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Freeman looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Wyatt is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wyatt drops back looking for a leg! Freeman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Freeman manages to kick Wyatt off! Wyatt jumps back into Freeman's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Freeman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wyatt is controlling him.
Freeman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Wyatt sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Freeman is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wyatt is aware though and is defending well.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Freeman can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wyatt throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Freeman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Freeman throws a head kick that misses.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Freeman throws a lazy head kick
and Wyatt counters with a good low kick that Freeman was not able to check.
Wyatt blocks a head kick by Freeman.

Wyatt looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Freeman!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joesph Wyatt dominated that round.
That's time! Wyatt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Freeman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Freeman scores with a head kick.
Wyatt blocks a head kick by Freeman.
Freeman darts in looking for a takedown but Wyatt gets double underhooks and turns Freeman into the cage.

Wyatt has picked Freeman up - he's going for a ride! Wyatt dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Wyatt is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Wyatt throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Wyatt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Freeman can do to turn this around?
Freeman is controlling Wyatt's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Freeman is trying to maintain the position but Wyatt is very close to passing his half guard.

Wyatt scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Wyatt lands with a punch from half guard.
Wyatt wants to lay and pray for a moment but Freeman keeps working.
Freeman is trying to get back to full guard.

Wyatt gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Wyatt gets caught napping as Freeman dives in and scores a takedown. Wyatt manages to retain guard.
Freeman throws an elbow that misses. Wyatt uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Freeman's guard. Nice move by Wyatt!

Freeman tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Freeman is adopting a defensive guard.

Wyatt decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Freeman, up you get!
Freeman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Freeman manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wyatt on his heels. He'll look to pass Wyatt's guard now, I'm sure.

Wyatt is pulling down on Freeman's head. It's preventing any offense from Freeman, at least for the moment.
Freeman wanted to stand there but Wyatt had control of the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wyatt wants to sweep here but Freeman controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Joesph Wyatt will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Freeman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Freeman throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Wyatt to regain full guard.
Wyatt preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Wyatt is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Wyatt manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Freeman tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wyatt smiles and moves away.

Freeman clinches up with Wyatt and pushes him back against the cage.
Freeman tries for a takedown. No joy.

Wyatt is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Freeman can't fight it off and eventually Wyatt manages to take the fight to the floor. Freeman looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wyatt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Freeman wants to sweep here but Wyatt controlling him for the moment.

Wyatt cracks Freeman with a solid left hand.
Wyatt postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Wyatt working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Freeman's head.

Joesph Wyatt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wyatt in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Freeman wants to stand and escape but Wyatt is having none of it.

Wyatt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wyatt, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
