Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Wrend (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wado Ryu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryu is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: kalimba. Mark Wrend could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Wado Ryu's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Wrend! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Wado Ryu! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wrend thows a left - swing and a miss! Wrend fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Wrend misses with a lunging right hand
and Ryu makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Wrend waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ryu. Wrend misses with a shot to the body and Ryu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A clash of legs there as Ryu blocks the low kick. Wrend clinches with his opponent.
Wrend keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ryu's efforts to push away. Ryu wants to take the fight to the mat but Wrend manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ryu fails to pull the fight into his guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wrend has Ryu pressed against the cage, preventing Ryu from circling away and getting back to striking at range. A head punch on the inside from Ryu fails to land. Ryu throws a knee to the head but misses.

Ryu takes a shot to the head. Wrend lands a body punch in the clinch. Wrend lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Ryu. Wrend is working Ryu over against the cage. Ryu misses with an elbow strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wrend prevents a body shot from Ryu. Ryu is trying to push Wrend away but Wrend has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Wrend blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Ryu misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Wrend.
Ryu is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Wrend has picked Ryu up - he's going for a ride! Wrend dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Wrend has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ryu is looking to improve his position.
Wrend with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Ryu is looking to control Wrend's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ryu avoid being mounted? Wrend trying to control the pace. Wrend missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Wrend looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ryu with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wrend slows the pace down in half guard. Wrend has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wrend has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wrend is trying to work for a kimura but Ryu is defending well.
Well, if Wrend is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Ryu keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ryu looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Wrend seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ryu for as long as he can get away with. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ryu on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Ryu is trying to get back to full guard. Wrend is taking a breather. Ryu says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wrend is trying for a kimura here. Ryu looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Wrend wins by kimura!
