Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Shank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shank fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Silva misses with a takedown
and Shank counters with a left to the body.
Silva moves out of range of the body kick from Shank.
Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Shank counters with a nice double leg into side control. Silva won't be happy with that.
Shank is trying to move to mount but Silva reverses beautifully and ends up in Shank's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Shank is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Shank is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Silva thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Shank moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Silva stalks Shank and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Shank's face. Shank staggers backwards, shaken.
Shank moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

and Shank counters with a three punch combo that has Silva backing up. Silva nods at Shank to acknowledge the strikes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Shank falls off balance throwing a combination
and Silva counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Shank doesn't manage to clinch there - Silva circles away.

Silva lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Silva keeps the fight on the outside.
The fight stays on the outside here - Shank looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A head kick from Silva lands but Shank takes it in his stride.

Shank tightens his grip and picks Silva up, before dumping him to the ground. Silva manages to land in guard.
Silva wants to stand and escape but Shank is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva tries to roll over but Shank keeps him under control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silva flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Shank performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shank on the ground.
Shank prevents Silva from improving his position.
Shank keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Shank darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Shank is taking a breather. Silva says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Shank is looking for a kimura but Silva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Shank to get the leverage.

Shank is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Silva closes the distance but Shank moves to the side
and Shank counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Shank is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Silva holds on and takes a little breather.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Shank is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Shank's back instead.

Silva cracks Shank with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Shank from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Frank Shank showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Silva tries to get to full guard but Shank has control of the leg.
Shank uses his free foot to push down on Silva's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Silva.

Frank Shank comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Shank winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
