The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maamladu avoids the head kick by Baringer.
Baringer scores a takedown into full mount!

Maamladu manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Maamladu is trying to maintain the position but Baringer is very close to passing his half guard.
Baringer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Maamladu is just riding it out for now. Baringer eventually gives up the hold.

Baringer looks to land a combination but Maamladu avoids it well.
Etu Maamladu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Maamladu is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Baringer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Baringer's back!
Baringer turns into Maamladu and is now in his guard.

Maamladu has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Baringer off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Baringer ducks under a wild hook from Maamladu.

Maamladu has his foot on Baringer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Baringer works his way back into a safe position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Maamladu wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Baringer manages to pass to side control.

Baringer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Maamladu sprawls well initially but Baringer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
