Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brendan Solomon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mo Lawall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Brendan Solomon has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brendan Solomon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mo Lawall!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Solomon catches Lawall napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Lawall to the canvas!


Lawall is rocked!


It looks like Mo Lawall has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Solomon drops back looking for a leg! Lawall is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lawall manages to kick Solomon off! Solomon jumps back into Lawall's guard.
Lawall is still in real trouble! Can Solomon finish him?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Solomon forces his way into half guard.

Solomon is looking for a kimura but Lawall is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Solomon to get the leverage.
Lawall seems to have recovered his senses.
Solomon is trying to control the action in half guard but Lawall is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Solomon is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lawall defends it well.

Lawall is trying to stand up here but Solomon is controlling him well.

Solomon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lawall is just riding it out for now. Solomon eventually gives up the hold.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lawall is trying to stand.

Solomon wants to work for an arm triangle but Lawall is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Solomon swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Solomon keeps the fight on the outside.
Solomon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lawall manages to avoid it.
Solomon tries to clinch but Lawall moves away

and Lawall moves into the clinch.
Solomon goes for a takedown attempt but Lawall pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lawall uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Solomon.
Lawall avoids the body shot from Solomon.
Solomon throws a right and a left that both miss.
Solomon tries to bum rush Lawall with a series of wild strikes but Lawall uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lawall tries to clinch up
and Solomon makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Solomon is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lawall.
Solomon tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Lawall counters by moving into the clinch.
Lawall creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Solomon's defenses.


It looks like Brendan Solomon has been cut.
Solomon drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lawall pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lawall tries to clinch but Solomon moves away
and Solomon counters with a left to the body.
Solomon is breathing heavily.
Solomon tries to clinch

and Lawall counters by moving into the clinch.
Lawall throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Lawall using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Solomon has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Lawall creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Lawall gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Solomon.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brendan Solomon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lawall connects with a knee to the head.
Solomon fails to pull guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brendan Solomon dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Solomon lands with a nice combination. Lawall backs away looking to recover.

Solomon misses with a wild combination.
Solomon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Lawall counters by clinching up.
Solomon drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lawall pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lawall tries to clinch up but Solomon circles away and keeps his distance.
Lawall is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lawall wants to clinch
and Solomon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Solomon scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lawall in his tracks.
Solomon just misses with a punch to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Solomon lands a right hook to the body.
Lawall takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Brendan Solomon is winning the standup battle so far.
Solomon misses the shot to the body.
Lawall wants to clinch but Solomon slips to the side
letting Solomon counter with a right hand.


Lawall is rocked!
Solomon closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Lawall! Solomon dives in looking to finish! Lawall is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brendan Solomon!
