PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexsandr Slemenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonas De Vos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slemenko comes to the cage accompanied by Небо Славян. The crowd seem to be enjoying De Vos's choice of entrance music: Wash My Soul -Tricky. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Slemenko avoids a punch combination nicely.
De Vos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Good standup being displayed there by De Vos as he connects with a hook.
Slemenko takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No joy there for De Vos, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
De Vos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

De Vos wants to break free but Slemenko has control.

De Vos manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
De Vos has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Slemenko avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Slemenko jumps guard but De Vos stands there with Slemenko around his waist. Slemenko gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Slemenko is trying to drag De Vos to the mat but De Vos just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Slemenko is pressed up against the cage. De Vos has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Slemenko down to the mat. Slemenko avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

De Vos cracks Slemenko with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Slemenko tightens his grip and picks De Vos up, before dumping him to the ground. De Vos manages to land in guard.

De Vos throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Slemenko escapes and throws De Vos's legs to the side, diving into side control!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jonas De Vos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think De Vos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Jonas De Vos spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
