0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Juan Carlos! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlos moves into the clinch. Mcknight lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Carlos. Stalling in the clinch from Mcknight.
Mcknight really is a fat lump. Carlos wants a takedown but no success here.
Mcknight putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Carlos in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Carlos is trying to pull guard but Mcknight turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Carlos trying to land knees to the body.
Carlos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Carlos moves into the clinch. Carlos drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mcknight gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Mcknight tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carlos swats him away and circles back towards the center. Mcknight with a lazy takedown attempt and Carlos counters with a flying knee. Nice. Juan Carlos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carlos fails with a takedown attempt. No luck for Carlos with that takedown attempt. Carlos changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mcknight looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Carlos looks winded! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mcknight bucks up and tries to throw Carlos off but instead Carlos has got his back! Mcknight rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Carlos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mcknight. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Carlos blocks the strikes from Mcknight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlos prevents Mcknight from improving his position. Carlos wants to get back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mcknight tries to get to full guard but Carlos has control of the leg. Carlos is thwarting Mcknight's attempts to control the position. Carlos wants to get back to his feet.
Mcknight moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mcknight has a closed guard, preventing Carlos from standing up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Juan Carlos dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Nice sprawl there from Carlos as Mcknight shoots in. Giovanni Mcknight is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Carlos circles away from the clinch attempt.

He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Mcknight postures up and lands a big shot to Carlos's brow. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Carlos. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Mcknight throws a strike but Carlos avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Mcknight working some strikes from top position. Mcknight is looking to work some ground and pound but Carlos has wrist control. Mcknight working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Mcknight throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carlos works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mcknight with a flurry of punches that miss. Mcknight prevents Carlos from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcknight scoring with some ground and pound. Mcknight stops Carlos from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mcknight landing with the ground and pound. Carlos is breathing heavily. Mcknight trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Carlos wants to get back to his feet but Mcknight is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Mcknight darts in looking for a takedown but Carlos gets double underhooks and turns Mcknight into the cage. Nice body punch from Mcknight - that landed with a thud.
Mcknight is looking to control Carlos's arms but Carlos gets an underhook and turns him. Now Mcknight has his back to the cage. A short right from Mcknight on the inside.

Carlos tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mcknight just stands there and leans against the cage. Carlos wants a takedown.

Carlos keeps the fight on the outside. Carlos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mcknight but Mcknight pushes him off and we're back to square one. Carlos forces Mcknight back against the cage and clinches. Mcknight unloads a knee to the mid-section. Carlos lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Carlos is looking to take this one to the mat. Mcknight is looking to control Carlos's arms but Carlos gets an underhook and turns him. Now Mcknight has his back to the cage. Carlos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mcknight fails with the takedown. Carlos doesn't succeed with the takedown and Mcknight holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Carlos tries to pull guard but Mcknight holds him up against the cage and eventually Carlos drops back down to his feet.

Carlos jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mcknight walks away with a smile on his face. Carlos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcknight tries to clinch but Carlos is having none of it. Carlos tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mcknight defends well and Carlos ends up having to push Mcknight into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Carlos tries to pull guard but Mcknight forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Mcknight leaning his opponent against the cage. Mcknight is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Carlos is keeping busy. Carlos tries to work over Mcknight's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Mcknight taking a breather. Carlos has had enough of the clinch but Mcknight keeps him there for the moment.
