Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Viktor Gragula!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sid Reaper!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gragula leaves Reaper with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
It looked like Gragula was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Reaper has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Gragula.
Reaper misses with a takedown attempt - Gragula sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Gragula was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Reaper drives through with a takedown into Gragula's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Gragula throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Gragula is controlling Reaper's posture.
Reaper is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gragula is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gragula has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gragula's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Reaper keeping moving, preventing Gragula from controlling successfully.
Gragula is sitting in close to Reaper's body. Reaper has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Gragula is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Gragula is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Reaper.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Sid Reaper!
A less than humble Sid Reaper misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
Viktor Gragula was interviewed post fight and said 'I hate werewolves'.
