Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Armos Saffedine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rikiya Sonoda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Armos Saffedine!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rikiya Sonoda!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saffedine keeps the fight on the outside.
Sonoda tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Saffedine takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Saffedine looks to land a body kick but Sonoda moved away.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Sonoda. Saffedine shrugs it off though.
Sonoda moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Saffedine avoids the head kick by Sonoda.
Sonoda lands a nice leg kick that just misses Saffedine's sensitive parts.

Sonoda lands a nice hook to Saffedine's body. Saffedine takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Saffedine closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sonoda quickly recovers to half guard.

Saffedine has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Saffedine seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Sonoda looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Saffedine puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Sonoda tries to kick Saffedine off but Saffedine keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Sonoda is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Saffedine thows a huge punch but Sonoda dodges it nicely.

Saffedine seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Sonoda wants to stand back up but Saffedine manages to pass into side control.
Saffedine controls the position.
Sonoda felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Sonoda misses with a strike from the bottom.
Sonoda wants to get back to his feet but Saffedine is dominant here and he's now got Sonoda's back!

Saffedine is persistently looking for the submission but Sonoda is defending it well.

Sonoda is trying to defend against the choke here but Saffedine has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Saffedine Tightens the hold and Sonoda taps out furiously! Saffedine displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
