Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Ivanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hakeem Slaughter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vladimir Ivanov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hakeem Slaughter!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Slaughter misses with a body shot.
Ivanov leaves Slaughter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Slaughter darts in looking for a takedown but Ivanov gets double underhooks and turns Slaughter into the cage.
Slaughter slows down the pace here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ivanov tries to pull guard but Slaughter holds him up against the cage and eventually Ivanov drops back down to his feet.
Ivanov has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Slaughter after a bit of a struggle.

Slaughter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ivanov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Slaughter.
Slaughter goes for a double leg but Ivanov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ivanov continues to drive forward.
Vladimir Ivanov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hakeem Slaughter.

Slaughter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ivanov misses with a two punch combination.
Ivanov throws a series of punches but Slaughter moves out of range.
Slaughter tries to clinch up
and Slaughter takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Slaughter jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Slaughter avoids a punch combination nicely.
Slaughter tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ivanov defends well and Slaughter ends up having to push Ivanov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Slaughter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ivanov pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ivanov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Slaughter circles away quickly and effectively.

Slaughter closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Slaughter misses with a body punch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Slaughter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ivanov pulls his leg out and moves away.
Slaughter dodges the punch combination from Ivanov.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Slaughter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Slaughter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Ivanov takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Ivanov avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Slaughter.

Slaughter is staying tight to Ivanov's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Slaughter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hakeem Slaughter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Slaughter closes the distance and pushes Ivanov back into the cage.
Slaughter goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ivanov prevents it.
Ivanov blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Slaughter misses with a body punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slaughter has Ivanov pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ivanov manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Slaughter goes for a takedown attempt but Ivanov pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Slaughter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ivanov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Slaughter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ivanov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Slaughter cracks Ivanov with a solid left hand.
Slaughter wants to control from the top but Ivanov keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Slaughter tries to clinch but Ivanov is having none of it.

Ivanov misses with a two punch combination.
Vladimir Ivanov is winning the standup battle so far.
A combination from Slaughter does no damage.

Slaughter drives through and clinches with Ivanov against the cage.

Slaughter lands a takedown into guard.

Slaughter slips nicely into half guard.
Slaughter throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Hakeem Slaughter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
