Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pip Pop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buster Knott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knott has chosen Kanye West vs. The xx - Touch The Sky (Carlos Serrano Mix) as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pip Pop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Buster Knott!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knott throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pop is looking to counter punch.

Knott shoots in and gets a takedown into Pop's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Knott forces his way into half guard.
Pop wants to get back to full guard.
Knott is trying to control the action in half guard but Pop is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Pop regains full guard. Nicely done.
Knott wants to control from the top but Pop keeps moving.
Knott preventing the sweep.

Pop has his foot on Knott's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Knott works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Knott throws a big elbow that misses.

Pop working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Knott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Knott manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Pop tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Pop looking for a sweep. Not yet Pop, not yet.
Pop is trying to control the position but Knott postures up.

Pop looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Knott slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Pop is trying to control the position but Knott postures up.
Knott controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Knott would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Knott. Pop does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pop is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pop moves away from the strike by Knott.
Pop avoids the body shot from Knott.
Knott jabs Pop to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Knott forces Pop back against the cage and clinches.

Knott decides to pull guard.
Knott looking to control.
Knott wants to get back to his feet but Pop is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Pop in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Pop pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Knott is keeping the position for now.
Knott wants to stand and escape but Pop is having none of it.
Knott wants to sweep here but Pop controlling him for the moment.

Knott is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
No joy there for Knott, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Knott gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Pop got a little sloppy there for a moment and Knott has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pop has managed to get both his arms back between Knott's legs - danger averted.
Knott is trying to control the position but Pop postures up.
Pop passes Knott's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Knott tries to get to full guard but Pop has control of the leg.
Knott is trying to stand.

Pop is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Knott is trying to get back to full guard.

Knott manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Pop keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Knott is trying to trip Pop. He has hold of a leg but Pop is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Knott persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pop is on top in guard.

Pop pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Knott is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Knott is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pop is controlling him.
Knott pulls Pop in close to his closed guard and prevents Pop from doing any damage or advancing position.
Pop throwing strikes from guard but Knott blocks nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buster Knott dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Knott takes a swing at Pop's ribcage but misses.
Knott misses with the combination.
Knott throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Knott gets caught flat footed, as Pop shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Pop stops Knott from standing up.
Pop with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Knott preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Knott is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pop working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Pop has gone for a leg lock! Knott slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pop's guard.

Knott drops back looking for a leg! Pop is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pop manages to kick Knott off! Knott jumps back into Pop's guard.

Knott wants to pass the guard but Pop is keeping the position.
Pop is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Knott avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Knott trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Knott wants to control from the top but Pop keeps moving.
Pop manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Knott manages to get himself to full guard.

Pop passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Knott wants to control but Pop postures up.

Pop wants to lay and pray for a moment but Knott keeps working.
Knott is looking for a sweep.
Knott is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Pop off and has taken his back!
Knott keeps control of the position as Pop tries to break free.

Knott patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Pop fending off the submission attempt from Knott.
Pop tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Pop is looking to improve his position but Knott isn't that keen on the idea.
Pop is working hard here to advance position.
Knott tries to control but Pop wriggling away.
Pop gets back to half guard.
Pop is refusing to be controlled, as Knott sits in half guard.

Knott is trying to work for a kimura but Pop is defending well.
Knott working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Pop wants to improve his position but Knott is controlling well.
Knott uses his free foot to push down on Pop's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pop.
Pop is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Last Dragon MMA '13 Coaches $600' , so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Pop tries to lock up and control but Knott gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Pop really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Knott is trying to take his opponent's back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pop is looking to get to half guard.
Knott avoids the attempt from Pop to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buster Knott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Nice shot lands for Knott.


It looks like Pip Pop has been cut.
Knott looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Knott has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Pop is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Knott throws a push kick but Pop slaps the foot to one side.
Pop avoids the body shot from Knott.

Pop closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Pop looks up at the clock and then as Knott takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Pop smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

You can see the frustration on Knott's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Pop tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Pop has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Knott!
Pop trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Knott in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Knott is trying desperately to improve position.
Pop with shots to the head and body - Knott looks very uncomfortable down there.

Knott wants to hold on but Pop pushes him away.
Pop lands a big elbow.
Pop landing strikes from the mount.
Pop postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Knott badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Pop around the waist but Pop pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Pop is the winner by TKO! Pop jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pip Pop!
In defeat, Buster Knott stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'm young and still have a lot of upside. The same cannot be said of you.'.
