Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Joni Johnsso! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Killa J! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Johnsso as J shoots in. Johnsso drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnsso advances to mount. J tries to get back to half guard but can't. Johnsso is trying to take his opponent's back.
J defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Johnsso. Johnsso is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, J has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. J tries to hold on but Johnsso pushes him away. J tries to get back to half guard but can't. Johnsso is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but J is surviving well by controlling Johnsso's body position as best he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. J defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Johnsso. Johnsso moves to the back. J breaks Johnsso's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Johnsso is breathing heavily. J tries to get back to half guard but can't. Johnsso has hold of J's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and J manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
J is looking to improve his position but Johnsso isn't that keen on the idea. Johnsso is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, J has managed to escape the submission attempt.
J gets back to half guard. Johnsso is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. J doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnsso.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. J wants to sweep but no luck. Johnsso working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. J doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. J manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. J wants to control from the top but Johnsso keeps moving. Johnsso had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. J is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Johnsso Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take J's back instead. Johnsso gets his hands free as J looks to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnsso is trying to stick to J's back but J is turning into Johnsso. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Johnsso's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by J. Johnsso has a loose triangle. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. J tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnsso is retaining full guard. J scoring with some ground and pound.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Excellent takedown into side control there by Johnsso. Johnsso is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, J has escaped the position, nice work there. J struggling a bit here. Johnsso tries for a kimura but J is defending well. You can see the frustration on J's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. J is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Johnsso off and has taken his back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
