The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West feints a jab promting Gracie to slip. West then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gracie slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
West swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Gracie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by West.
West thuds a left hand into Gracie's body.
West throws a series of strikes that have Gracie backpedaling.
West fails with an attempt to clinch.
West clinches.
West swings away with an uppercut that misses.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for West.
West lands with a light punch inside.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gracie manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
West stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Gracie has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! West manages to get his head free but now Gracie has transitioned to an armbar! West grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Gracie! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
