The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costanzo misses with a wild combination.
Bronus tries to counter with a takedown but Costanzo is quick to defend against it.

Bronus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Costanzo can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bronus scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Costanzo to see if he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bronus wants to control but Costanzo is keeping him busy.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Bronus tries to pass to full mount but Costanzo defends it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A frustrated look appears on Costanzo's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Costanzo is looking to break free of the clinch but Bronus has double underhooks.
Costanzo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Bronus counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Costanzo!
Bronus has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Costanzo wants to hold on but Bronus pushes him away.

Grarlock Bronus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Costanzo is looking to improve his position but Bronus isn't that keen on the idea.
