The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azhiev shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Griffin defends it nicely.
Azhiev gets the takedown into side control.
Griffin tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Azhiev has an Americana. Griffin didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Azhiev is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Azhiev hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Anzhor Azhiev!
A determined Anzhor Azhiev didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
