Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcos Barbosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay de Borg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay de Borg told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcos Barbosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay de Borg!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbosa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? de Borg is fending him off so far but Barbosa persists. Nope, de Borg circles away and we're back to standing.
Barbosa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

de Borg throws a right and a left that both miss.
de Borg lands a glancing blow to the side of Barbosa's head.
Barbosa dodges the punch combination from de Borg.
de Borg looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Barbosa darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Barbosa is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Barbosa thows a huge punch but de Borg dodges it nicely.

Barbosa is just content to waste time from the top position. de Borg takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

de Borg's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcos Barbosa will probably get the nod.

Barbosa shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Jay de Borg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barbosa decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if de Borg can do anything to dispel that myth.
de Borg is breathing heavily.

Barbosa tries to control but de Borg wriggling away.
Barbosa swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and de Borg is now in Barbosa's guard. A big mistake from Barbosa there, giving up the dominant position!

de Borg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barbosa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Barbosa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Barbosa wants to sweep here but de Borg controlling him for the moment.

Barbosa has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but de Borg has passed into side control.
Barbosa is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked de Borg off and has taken his back!
Barbosa is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

de Borg is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Marcos Barbosa will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

de Borg tries to bum rush Barbosa with a series of wild strikes but Barbosa uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
de Borg lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
de Borg throws a nice looking combination but Barbosa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Barbosa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed de Borg's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jay de Borg comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Barbosa has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
