Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Macadam Baird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Wilkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilkins has chosen Roy Jones - Can't be touched as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Macadam Baird has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Macadam Baird seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Anthony Taglia and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baird wants to clinch but Wilkins slips to the side
and Wilkins counters with a shoot takedown. Baird fights it but they end up in guard.

Baird wants to stand and escape but Wilkins is having none of it.
Baird controls Wilkins momentarily but Wilkins frees himself.
Wilkins told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wilkins looking to sit in guard and control but Baird gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Baird has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Baird sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wilkins's guard.

Wilkins is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Baird defends well.

We've been hearing good reports from Baird's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Baird cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Baird pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

BOOM! Baird connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Baird can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wilkins is looking to escape.

Baird postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Wilkins in real trouble here! The ref calls for Wilkins to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Macadam Baird!
In his post fight interview, Macadam Baird started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
