Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Essss! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 48 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Birdman Lugz! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lugz has closed the distance and engaged Essss in a clinch.
Essss is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Lugz wants a takedown but no success here.
Essss using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lugz has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Essss breaks the clinch.
Essss takes a swing at Lugz's ribcage but misses. Essss will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Essss misses with a body shot.
Essss sets himself, and Lugz steps forward looking for the clinch! Essss avoids it this time. Lugz clinches. Essss looking to throw knees to the head but Lugz is blocking nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lugz distracts Essss with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Essss has Lugz pulled in close to control his posture. Lugz trying to move into half guard but instead Essss has managed to sweep! Essss engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Essss pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lugz is keeping the position for now. Essss slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Essss loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Essss advances to half guard. Essss trying to control the action but Lugz is working from the bottom. Essss missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Essss throwing shots but Lugz is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Essss throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Well, if Essss is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Essss dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Essss clinches up against the cage. Essss wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lugz has him pressed against the cage. Essss jumps guard and drags Lugz to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Lugz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lugz preventing the sweep. Lugz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Essss. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Essss wants to get back to his feet but Lugz is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Lugz trying to control but Essss is working from the bottom. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Essss holds on and takes a little breather. Essss wants to stand up but Lugz is controlling him. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Essss trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ken Essss dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Essss moves into the clinch. Essss drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lugz pulls his leg out and moves away.

Essss is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lugz can do to turn this around? Lugz has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Essss after a bit of a struggle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Essss. Essss gets underhooks to prevent Lugz's takedown attempt.

He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Lugz managing to block the knees to the body from Essss.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Essss can't find room to land a body shot as Lugz controls the action.

Essss has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lugz down to the mat. Lugz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lugz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Essss defends it nicely. Lugz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Essss, pushing him back against the cage. Lugz is working for takedown but Essss is calmly controlling the position for now. Essss drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lugz pulls his leg out and moves away.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Essss throws a big right hand that misses.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Essss throws a right and a left that Lugz avoids nicely. Lugz clinches. Lugz prevents a takedown attempt there.

And that's the end of the fight! Ken Essss showed his dominance in that final round. Well Essss has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
