Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Squirrel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Parsons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Squirrel comes to the cage accompanied by Bio Crisis - Delirio. Parsons has chosen Rev Theory - Dead in a Grave as his entrance music. Steve Squirrel has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Squirrel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Parsons!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parsons is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Squirrel throws a right hand that Parsons ducks under and follows up with a left that Parsons also avoids with ease.
Squirrel dives in and grabs Parsons's left leg, looking for a takedown. Parsons pushes down on Squirrel's head and hops out.
Parsons swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Parsons misses with the combination.
Squirrel seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Squirrel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Parsons fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


It looks like Steve Squirrel has been cut.
Parsons gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Squirrel shoots for a double leg takedown but Parsons sprawls well. He's pushed Squirrel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Squirrel scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Squirrel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Parsons has taken the fight to the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Squirrel has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Parsons after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Squirrel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Squirrel has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Parsons is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Squirrel misses with a punch to the body.
Parsons blocking some punches.

Parsons has a couple of punches blocked by Squirrel.
A nice left hand lands by Parsons.
Squirrel tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Parsons's elbow.
Parsons is pressed up against the cage. Squirrel has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Parsons down to the mat. Parsons avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
A combination from Squirrel does no damage.

Parsons lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Parsons tries to clinch up but Squirrel circles away and keeps his distance.
Squirrel jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Parsons throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Squirrel on the side of the head.
Squirrel swats away the attempt to clinch by Parsons.
Parsons throws a right and a left that both miss.

Parsons gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Squirrel's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Parsons gets through Squirrel's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Squirrel.

Parsons is fighting off a takedown attempt but Squirrel is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Parsons to the mat. Parsons regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Parsons is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Squirrel trying to control but Parsons is working from the bottom.
Parsons wants to get back to his feet but Squirrel is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Squirrel looking to sit in guard and control but Parsons gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Parsons accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Parsons has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Weed Nation. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Parsons prevents Squirrel from improving his position.
Squirrel is controlling Parsons's trapped leg to prevent Parsons from advancing to side control.
Parsons winds up and cracks Squirrel with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Squirrel trying to control but Parsons postures up.
Parsons works his way into side control.

Squirrel manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Squirrel wants to control but Parsons is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Parsons slips a nice elbow through Squirrel's hands, connecting with Squirrel's forehead.

Parsons winds up and cracks Squirrel with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Parsons wants to free his trapped foot but Squirrel is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Parsons seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.


Squirrel is rocked!
Parsons is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Squirrel is hurt! He's hurt bad - Parsons fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Squirrel from any more punishment! Congratulations to Parsons! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Parsons!
Jack Parsons tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
