Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steele Christian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steele Christian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brian Quinn!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Quinn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Christian sprawls well initially but Quinn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Christian works his way to full guard. Good work.
Christian utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Quinn wants to stand and escape but instead Christian has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Christian tries to free his leg and advance position but Quinn is retaining full guard.
Quinn is trying to control the position but Christian postures up.
Quinn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Christian with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Christian tries to stand but Quinn is controlling from the bottom.

Quinn looking for a guillotine here but Christian defends easily.

Christian has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Christian stands up from Quinn's guard - Christian perhaps looking for a knockout.
Christian doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Quinn counters with a shoot takedown. Christian fights it but they end up in guard.
Quinn tries to free his leg and advance position but Christian is retaining full guard.
Christian trying to keep a closed guard but Quinn is proving a slippery customer.
Quinn is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Christian looking to hit a scissor sweep but Quinn is one step ahead there.

Christian keeping moving, preventing Quinn from controlling successfully.

Christian is working an open guard so Quinn takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Christian tries for a takedown but Quinn circles away easily

and Quinn counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Quinn.

Christian gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Quinn is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Christian is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Christian has escaped and now he's on top!

Christian has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Quinn is proving hard to escape from.
Christian cracks Quinn with a solid left hand.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Christian shoots and misses

and Quinn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Christian's guard.
Christian wants to stand up but Quinn is controlling him.

Christian is trying to keep Quinn in close.
Quinn postures up and lands a big shot to Christian's brow.
Quinn is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Christian escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Quinn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Quinn stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Quinn shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Christian's guard.
Quinn postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Christian manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Quinn wants to hold on but Christian pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Quinn tries to reverse the position but Christian maintains control.
Christian won't let Quinn get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Christian pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Christian can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Quinn is looking to escape.
Quinn is trying to escape the mount.

Brian Quinn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

and Christian counters with a nice double leg into side control. Quinn won't be happy with that.

Christian scores with a couple of short elbows.
Christian wants to control but Quinn is keeping him busy.
Christian cracks Quinn with a big elbow.

Christian tries for a kimura but Quinn is defending well.
Quinn is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Christian off and has taken his back!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Christian is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Quinn has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Christian's body.
Quinn punishes Christian with strikes from the back mount.
Christian covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Quinn scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Christian trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Quinn working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Brian Quinn has got the better of the ground game so far.
Quinn is trying to stick to Christian's back but Christian is turning into Quinn. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Quinn's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Christian.

Quinn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Christian is one step ahead there.

Quinn is looking for a triangle here but Christian uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Quinn is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Christian creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Christian throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Christian tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Quinn drives through and clinches with Christian against the cage.

Quinn gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Christian regains guard.
Christian is pulling down on Quinn's head to control his posture.

Quinn drops back, looking for a kneebar! Christian looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Christian looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Christian!
Quinn is looking to regain half guard here but Christian keeps moving and retains side control.
Steele Christian has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Brian Quinn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Quinn is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Steele Christian.
Well Quinn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
