Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pete Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lionel Lindsay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pete Pettis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lionel Lindsay! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lindsay misses with a combination
and Pettis counters with an inside leg kick. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lindsay, as that shot connected.
Pete Pettis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A kick lands to the mid section there for Pettis. Pettis lands a leg kick that knocks Lindsay off balance momentarily. Lindsay tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Pettis ducks under a wild hook from Lindsay. Jab, jab by Lindsay - just one landing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lindsay misses with a straight left. Lindsay with a jab. Lindsay bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pettis's head. Pettis thows a leg kick but Lindsay checks it and Lindsay counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pettis tries to land a body kick and Lindsay counters with a lovely straight right hand! A head kick misses from Pettis. Lindsay plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Pettis throws a head kick that misses and Lindsay counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Pettis blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Pettis wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Pettis has had enough of the clinch but Lindsay keeps him there for the moment. Pettis working hard to break the clinch. Pettis looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Lindsay keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Pettis's efforts to push away. Lindsay misses with a short punch on the inside.

Pettis is trying to force a seperation but Lindsay has the dominant position. Pettis tries to circle away but Lindsay has him pinned against the cage. Pettis working hard to break the clinch. Pettis wants to break free but Lindsay has control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pettis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Lindsay is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Lindsay has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Lindsay shoots in and bounces Pettis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lionel Lindsay dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Pettis connects with a leg kick. Lindsay looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Lindsay throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Pettis lands with a kick to the temple. Lindsay shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pettis throws a leg kick that misses. Pettis blocks a head kick by Lindsay.

It seemed like Lindsay was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Lindsay has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Lindsay tries to clinch but Pettis moves out of range. Pettis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Lindsay tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Pettis throws a sloppy head kick and Lindsay moves out of range easily. Lindsay let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. A head kick misses from Pettis. Pettis tries a head kick but it misses.
Despite the aggression on Lindsay's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Pettis moves away from the strike by Lindsay. The fighters circle momentarily. Lindsay darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. A solid body kick from Lindsay. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pettis takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Pettis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lindsay throws a head kick that misses. Lindsay might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Pettis misses with a head kick.

and Pettis counters with a nice low kick that buckles Lindsay's knee momentarily. Lindsay blocks a head kick by Pettis.

Lindsay shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lindsay showed some decent athleticism there. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lindsay lands a nice short elbow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lindsay is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pettis is just riding it out for now. Lindsay eventually gives up the hold. Lindsay looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That was a close second round but I would say that Pete Pettis will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

It looks like Lionel Lindsay has been cut. Lindsay on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Pettis. Pettis obviously looking to wear him down.
Pettis thows a body kick. Lindsay tries to catch it but that hurt him. Pettis lands a front kick. Pettis fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lindsay has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Lindsay blocks a head kick by Pettis.

Pettis throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Pettis misses with a leg kick and Lindsay counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Both fighters circling a little - Pettis finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Pete Pettis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lindsay loads up on a big right hand but Pettis slips the punch. Pettis is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Lindsay. Pettis throws a sloppy head kick and Lindsay moves out of range easily. Pettis shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Lindsay avoids a kick to the body.
It seemed like Lindsay was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Lindsay scores with a decent looking hook. Lindsay has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Pettis. Pettis throws a head kick that half lands.
Lindsay misses the jab. Pettis looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Pettis throws a head kick but Lindsay moves out of range.
Pettis throws a wild body kick that Lindsay sees coming a mile off. Lindsay stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Lindsay thinks about the counter body kick. Pettis ducks under a wild hook from Lindsay. A decent looking cross lands there for Lindsay. Lindsay misses with a hook. Pettis ducked under it nicely. Lindsay wants to clinch. Pettis attempts a counter takedown but Lindsay avoids it well and moves away. Lindsay blocks the body kick.
Lindsay now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Lindsay lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pettis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A head kick by Pettis misses and Lindsay counters with a lovely shot to the body. Lindsay takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Lindsay looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Lindsay with a flurry of punches that miss. Lindsay postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Lindsay scoring with some ground and pound. Lindsay trying to control but Pettis is working from the bottom. Pettis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lindsay drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pettis dives on top into guard. Lindsay manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pettis manages to get himself to full guard.
Lionel Lindsay has got the better of the ground game so far. Lindsay throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lindsay is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lindsay forces his way into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lindsay has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Lionel Lindsay. I think Lindsay has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
