Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Plaskota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Kruger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Plaskota! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Freddy Kruger! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kruger defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Plaskota. Kruger misses with an uppercut. Plaskota saw that one coming. Plaskota seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Plaskota misses with a wild body shot. Plaskota shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kruger defends it nicely. Plaskota closes the distance and clinches up with Kruger, looking for a takedown. Plaskota pushes Kruger against the cage but Kruger circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. A countering left hand to the body from Kruger misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Plaskota. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kruger digs a good body shot into Plaskota's ribs. Plaskota ducks under a wild hook from Kruger. Plaskota definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Kruger throws a looping overhand right but Plaskota ducks down to avoid it. Plaskota is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Kruger. Plaskota misses with a takedown attempt - Kruger sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kruger misses with a looping left. Plaskota tries to counter with a takedown but Kruger is quick to defend against it. Plaskota will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kruger! But no joy. Kruger lands a body shot.
Kruger looks to throw the jab but Plaskota is out of range. Nice defenses there by Plaskota.
That's one minute gone in the round. Plaskota looks for a takedown but Kruger sprawls well. Kruger connects with a right hand. Plaskota shakes it off. Plaskota shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Plaskota shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kruger pinned against the cage. Kruger gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kruger throws a looping overhand right but Plaskota ducks down to avoid it. Kruger lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Kruger misses with a hook. Plaskota ducked under it nicely. Plaskota displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kruger throws out the jab. Plaskota changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. A leg kick checked by Kruger. Plaskota fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Plaskota drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Kruger missing with a left hand there. Plaskota was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Kruger ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Plaskota shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kruger defends it nicely. Kruger scores with a jab to the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kruger throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kruger misses with a straight right. Kruger scores with a punch to the head. Plaskota fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kruger is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed right hand from Kruger misses the target. Kruger throws a good cross that connects.
Kruger throws a body punch but Plaskota moves out of range. Freddy Kruger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Plaskota shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kruger pinned against the cage. Kruger gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kruger swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. A jab from Kruger finds it's way through Plaskota's defenses. A punch combination from Kruger misses. Plaskota darts in looking for a takedown but Kruger gets double underhooks and turns Plaskota into the cage. Freddy Kruger is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kruger lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kruger lands a right hook to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action! Plaskota uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kruger. Kruger fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Plaskota manages to avoid it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Plaskota. Plaskota tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kruger sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Plaskota somewhat. Kruger misses with a hook. A shot to the liver by Kruger. Beautiful body shot. Kruger looks to land a right hand but Plaskota moved out of range. Plaskota tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kruger paws at him with a jab and circles away. Plaskota moves away from the strike by Kruger. Plaskota shoots in but Kruger avoids the takedown attempt easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Freddy Kruger dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Kruger throws an overhand right that lands on Plaskota's shoulder, as Plaskota tries to avoid the shot. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Plaskota might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Kruger misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Plaskota fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kruger loads up on a big right hand but Plaskota slips the punch. Plaskota bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Kruger has one of Plaskota's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Kruger tries to bench press Plaskota off him but Plaskota keeps the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kruger can do anything to dispel that myth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Plaskota is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kruger is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Kruger wants to control but Plaskota postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kruger tries to bench press Plaskota off him but Plaskota keeps the position. Kruger gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Kruger is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Plaskota jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kruger manages to avoid the submission attempt. Plaskota is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kruger knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kruger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Plaskota. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Plaskota tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Plaskota has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kruger gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Plaskota in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kruger tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Plaskota!
