Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcin Elsner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sin Cara!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, David Schapiro and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cara moves into the clinch.

Cara jumps into guard, dragging Elsner to the mat.

Cara is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cara is on top in guard.

Cara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Elsner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Elsner is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cara knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Elsner seems to be working for a kimura but Cara defends the submission attempt.

Cara is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Elsner is staying active.
Cara looks like he's trying to stand up.
Elsner throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Elsner uses his free foot to push down on Cara's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Cara.

Elsner lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Elsner throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Cara because Elsner loaded up on that one.

Elsner lands a big elbow.

Elsner looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Elsner avoids the attempt from Cara to control.
Elsner wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Elsner sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Cara holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Elsner tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Cara closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Elsner to the mat! Elsner manages to get full guard.

Elsner escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cara gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cara wants to stand but Elsner is controlling his posture from full guard.
Cara must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Elsner manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cara manages to get himself to full guard.

We've been informed that Cara has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Cara is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Elsner is looking to advance position but Cara has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Elsner is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cara can do to turn this around?
Elsner avoids a series of strikes thrown by Cara.
Cara wants to take Elsner's back but he can't do it this time.
Cara trying to control but Elsner is having none of it.

Elsner has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Cara doesn't defend quickly enough and Elsner has managed to lock this one up! Can Cara escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Elsner on a fantastic submission victory.
