Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Glass Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erik The Spider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Glass Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Erik The Spider!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn shoots for a takedown but The Spider saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The Spider gets a takedown into half guard.
The Spider sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Penn defending well though.

The Spider is looking for a kimura here.

The Spider is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Penn defends it well.
Penn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The Spider seems to be working for a kimura but Penn defends the submission attempt.
The Spider trying to mount his opponent but Penn defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The Spider is working for a submission of some sort.
Penn wants to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
The Spider throws a shot from downtown. Penn moves away and avoids it.
Penn tries to clinch up.
The Spider looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Penn doesn't manage to clinch there - The Spider circles away.
Penn throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

The Spider shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Penn's guard.

Penn is trying to control the position but The Spider postures up.

Penn looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Penn looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The Spider gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The Spider shoots for a takedown but Penn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Penn tries to clinch but The Spider is having none of it.
Penn has his takedown stuffed

and The Spider counters with a nice double leg into side control. Penn won't be happy with that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The Spider looks up at the clock and then as Penn takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, The Spider smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The Spider stands up and beckons Penn to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Penn clinches but The Spider breaks the clinch

and The Spider holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Penn tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Glass Penn. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Penn is fighting off a takedown attempt but The Spider is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Penn to the mat. Penn regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The Spider passes Penn's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The Spider passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Penn!
Penn is bucking up trying to escape but The Spider cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The Spider jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Penn is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Penn and The Spider has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The Spider lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Penn is trying to improve his position.
Penn misses with a strike from the bottom.
Penn is looking for a sweep.
Penn takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Penn is looking to regain half guard here but The Spider keeps moving and retains side control.
The Spider landing strikes.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Penn tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but The Spider wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The Spider bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The Spider wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Penn, who protects the arm well.
The Spider advances nicely into full mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Erik The Spider dominated that round.
That's time! Penn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Penn tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and The Spider counters by moving into the clinch.

The Spider jumps guard and drags Penn to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The Spider throwing short punches from the bottom.

Penn gets to his feet. The Spider looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
The Spider looks for a takedown but Penn sprawls well.

The Spider thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Penn looking to hit a scissor sweep but The Spider is one step ahead there.

Penn is trying to keep The Spider in close.
The Spider stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Penn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The Spider passes Penn's left leg - he's now in half guard.

The Spider is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Penn is pressing down on The Spider's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Penn lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for The Spider!
Penn throws some wild stikes that The Spider manages to avoid easily.

The Spider is looking to improve his position but Penn isn't that keen on the idea.
Penn looking to control but The Spider is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Erik The Spider has got the better of the ground game so far.
The Spider is looking to get to half guard.
Penn could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The Spider tries to reverse the position but Penn maintains control.
Penn trying to control but The Spider is having none of it.
The Spider bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells The Spider's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Penn looking to hit a scissor sweep but The Spider is one step ahead there.
The Spider tries to free his leg and advance position but Penn is retaining full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
The Spider on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The Spider scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The Spider prevents Penn from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Erik The Spider showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Penn shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and The Spider counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

The Spider drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The Spider passes Penn's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The Spider is nestled in close to Penn, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The Spider seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The Spider wants to work for an arm triangle but Penn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The Spider is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The Spider is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Penn doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time The Spider.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The Spider wants to advance to full mount but Penn doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Penn bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in The Spider's guard.

The Spider escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Penn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The Spider pulls Penn in close to prevent any damage.
The Spider wants to sweep here but Penn controlling him for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Penn wants to control from the top but The Spider keeps moving.
The Spider is trying to control the position but Penn postures up.
The Spider manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The Spider fails to take his opponent's back.
The Spider with a couple of short strikes.

The Spider jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Penn manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The Spider tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no The Spider has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The Spider in side control lands a decent elbow.
Penn is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The Spider is looking for a kimura but Penn is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for The Spider to get the leverage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The Spider is working for a submission of some sort.
The Spider passes to side control.

The Spider working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The Spider sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Penn is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Penn is looking to reverse the position.
The Spider takes a little break here. Penn wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Glass Penn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Erik The Spider is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Penn wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

And that's the end of the fight!
Erik The Spider comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got The Spider winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
