Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ratt Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hughes has chosen Country boy can survive as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 8 - 2, fighting out of New York, Bruce Do!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 43 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ratt Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Hughes.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hughes has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
A leg kick checked by Do.
A big left from Hughes misses.
Hughes misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Do.
Hughes swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ratt Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Do bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Do went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Hughes feints a jab promting Do to slip. Hughes then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Do slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Do stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Do wants it to stay on the feet.
Hughes scores with a hook.
Some bone on bone action there as Do checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Do tries to land a body kick
and Hughes counters with a straight right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hughes lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Hughes throws a low kick but Do avoids it.

Do keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hughes.
Hughes looks to land a combination but Do avoids it well.
A quick step to the side and Do tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bruce Do is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hughes loads up on a big right hand but Do slips the punch.
Hughes scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Hughes thows a left - swing and a miss!

and Do counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hughes throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Do counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Do wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Do tries to close the distance and clinch but Hughes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Do lands with a straight right. Hughes didn't see that one coming.
Hughes misses with a hook.
Hughes will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Do seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Hughes jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hughes stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Do.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hughes rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Do counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Do ducks under a wild hook from Hughes.
Hughes shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Do eats them both and turns towards Hughes to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Do keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Hughes looks to throw a body kick
and Do counters with a thumping low kick.
Hughes has a takedown stuffed.
Bruce Do has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ratt Hughes.
Hughes lunges at Do with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Do's hand.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Do checks a leg kick.
Hughes avoids the body shot from Do.
Hughes flicks out a counter leg kick but Do steps away.

Hughes sizes up Do with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Hughes throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Do on the side of the head.
Hughes takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Hughes misses with a shot to the body
and Hughes takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hughes misses with a straight left.
Hughes finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Hughes throws a hook to the side of Do's head but Do sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hughes misses with a double jab.
Do throws a series of punches but Hughes avoids them all with ease.
Do throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
A slow jab from Hughes misses its intended target.
Hughes avoids the head kick by Do.

Hughes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Do throws a big counter combination but Hughes scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Hughes darts in trying to clinch
and Do counters with a nice kick to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hughes misses with a looping left.
Hughes swings for the body but Do moves out of range.
Do tries to land a body kick
and Hughes counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Do closes the distance and pushes Hughes back into the cage.
Do misses with a hook from the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Do fails to land.
Do stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Hughes managing to block the knees to the body from Do.
Hughes has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Do avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Do misses with a hook to the ribs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ratt Hughes dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


That kick from Hughes tenderised Do's leg. Do is trying to keep his angry face on.
Hughes lands with a right hand.
Hughes misses with a looping left.
Hughes is looking to clinch.
Hughes fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Hughes throws a jab when Do was well out of range.

Hughes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hughes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hughes in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Do wants to get back to his feet.

Hughes fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Hughes is looking to take a break and control but Do is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Do is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Hughes misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Hughes looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Do is avoiding damage well.
Hughes postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Do wants to get back to his feet.
Hughes scores with a couple of short elbows.
Hughes controlling the position from side mount.
Hughes has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Do regains half guard there - taking advantage of Hughes's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Do wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Hughes fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Do to the ground. Hughes is now in Do's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hughes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Do wants to get back to his feet but Hughes is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hughes trying to control the position from guard on top but Do is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Do preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ratt Hughes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Do seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Hughes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hughes throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Do stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

It looked like Do was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Do does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

As Hughes tries to get set, Do tries to push him back and clinch up but Hughes manages to avoid the attempt.
Hughes lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Do backs up against the cage.

Do ducks right into an uppercut from Hughes.
Hughes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Do throws a big counter combination but Hughes scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Hughes unleashes a big counter combination but Do bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

It looked like Do was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Do keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Bruce Do has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hughes wants to take a breather but Do is having none of it.

Ratt Hughes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Hughes winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
