Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between David Van Driesen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Delfora Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Van Driesen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Delfora Santos!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Santos looking to score a takedown here. Van Driesen is defending well but Santos drives through and ends up in Van Driesen's guard.
Van Driesen keeping moving, preventing Santos from controlling successfully.
Van Driesen looking for a sweep. Not yet Van Driesen, not yet.

Van Driesen looking for a guillotine here but Santos defends easily.
Santos won't allow Van Driesen to sweep him here.
Van Driesen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Santos's guard.

Santos should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Santos striking off his back but it's not causing Van Driesen any problems.

Van Driesen drops back looking for a leg! Santos is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Santos manages to kick Van Driesen off! Van Driesen jumps back into Santos's guard.
Van Driesen forces his way into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Van Driesen connects with a nice short shot to Santos's temple.
Van Driesen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Santos flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Van Driesen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Santos is refusing to be controlled, as Van Driesen sits in half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Santos is looking to escape.
Van Driesen is trying to control the action in half guard but Santos is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Van Driesen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Van Driesen working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santos is pushing Van Driesen's head away, looking to escape. Van Driesen manages to hold on to the position though.
Van Driesen grinds an elbow into Santos's temple.

Van Driesen wants to control but Santos is keeping him busy.

Van Driesen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Santos throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Van Driesen in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Van Driesen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Santos keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Van Driesen dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A big left from Van Driesen misses.
Van Driesen sets himself, and Santos steps forward looking for the clinch! Van Driesen avoids it this time.

Van Driesen has closed the distance and engaged Santos in a clinch.

Van Driesen has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Santos is trying to keep an underhook but Van Driesen manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Santos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Van Driesen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Van Driesen winds up and cracks Santos with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Van Driesen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Van Driesen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Santos can do to turn this around?
Van Driesen moves nicely into side control.
Van Driesen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Santos tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Santos gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Van Driesen scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Santos?

Van Driesen has hold of Santos's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Santos manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
David Van Driesen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Santos is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

Van Driesen working for a submission but Santos is keeping him at bay.
Van Driesen lands a heavy elbow.
Santos manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Van Driesen uses his free foot to push down on Santos's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Santos.
Van Driesen lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Santos hang on?

Van Driesen lands a couple of good shots and Santos has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Santos covers up after that shot from Van Driesen.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Van Driesen. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Van Driesen is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Santos has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Van Driesen has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Santos has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Santos wants to escape the position.
I would not like to be Santos right now.
Van Driesen lands strikes to the head.
Santos is covering up but some of the strikes from Van Driesen are getting through and doing damage.

Santos is trying to defend against the choke here but Van Driesen has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Van Driesen Tightens the hold and Santos taps out furiously! Van Driesen displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). David Van Driesen!
A very excited looking David Van Driesen made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
